Rooney scores two as DC United maintain play-off push in comeback victory over Chicago Fire
WAYNE ROONEY was the hero as he inspired DC United to a comeback victory over Chicago Fire.
The 32-year-old striker's brace maintained his side's play-off push after they came from behind to triumph 2-1.
DC United were bottom of the table when the ex-England and Manchester United captain arrived in June.
Now he has helped them to climb up to seventh in the Eastern Conference of the MLS.
They now sit two points behind Montreal Impact with two games in hand.
A place in the top six will secure qualification for the play-offs.
