Chelsea Are The Only Team in Europe’s Top Five Leagues Not To Suffers Defeat This Season
MANCHESTER UNITED'S shock late comeback at Juventus means Chelsea are now the only undefeated side across Europe's top five leagues.
Former Blues man Juan Mata helped United on their way when his free-kick rippled into the net before an Alex Sandro own-goal ensured a surprise win for Jose Mourinho's side in Turin.
It was Juventus' first defeat in all competitions since April and just their second loss at home in the Champions League group stages for 36 matches.
But it also left Chelsea fans and players with something to cheer having become the only top side in Europe without a defeat.
Their run stretches to 16 matches and they are heavy favourites to make it 17 when they take on BATE Borisov in the Europa League on Thursday.
Both Manchester City and Liverpool are also undefeated in the Premier League but have endured defeats in Europe.
Pep Guardiola's high-flyers suffered a surprise loss at home to Lyon in September.
While Chelsea's run is impressive under new boss Maurizio Sarri, they have arguably had easier opponents to play in Europe.
In the league they have overcome Arsenal at home, beaten Liverpool away in the Carabao Cup and held Manchester United to a 2-2 draw.
